02Lifecycle

How a license check works

1Activate

The app sends the key and its hardware ID. The server binds the device if a slot is free.

2Validate

On each launch the app checks the license. The answer is HMAC-signed with a server timestamp, so it cannot be forged or replayed.

3Deactivate

Uninstalling releases the slot, so the customer can move the license to another machine.
